69Stanger408 82 Report post Posted October 21, 2020 Trying to put my scuff plates on and running into interference with the door glass bolts that have the heads under the door. Scuff plates appear to be typical in height / thickness but the bolts contact them when attempting to close, actually won't clear the head of the handle side of door. thoughts? And, the doors are perfectly aligned. Without the scuff plates door operation is perfect.

RPM 1,258 Report post Posted October 23, 2020 My bolts with captive washers clear the sill plate. I don't believe your issue is with the bolts.
Ridge Runner 1,154 Report post Posted October 23, 2020 If i remember right ,these bolts have a shorter head than a regular bolt of the same size ,also the holes in the inside of the rocker are actually slots ,make sure the molding is pushed all the way down 1 69Stanger408 reacted to this
JET 445 43 Report post Posted October 23, 2020 On my car I had to remove the wavy metal strip that holds the door seal in place and just glue the seal in place, and this is on a mint original body, never been rusty or damaged and yes my doors are perfectly aligned. It seems they are very tight in this area and you just have to do a few mods on some cars.
69Stanger408 82 Report post Posted October 26, 2020 UPDATE: Swapped out the bolts with different ones, all good, of course I had to take off the door panels because the rods moved once the bolt tension was removed, sadness. 1 stangs-R-me reacted to this
