Electric fuel pump

I’m looking at doing a return style fuel setup on my other project . It’s only a mild 302 so don’t need anything over the top. A pump that’s not to loud would be nice. 
Any ideas .

I did this when I converted to EFI. It's nice, but by time you buy the high pressure fuel line and fittings.it gets pretty expensive.

Thanks guys but both setups are for EFI . 
Any recommend pumps to suit a carb return style .

agreed, Im going this route once I go EFI, the stealth tank can handle both EFI and Carb Set ups. its matter of getting a fuel regulator and correct hose.

I'll be using a Mallory pump & regulator combo. I already have it but can't say about the noise level as its not installed yet.

When I first converted to EFI, I had an external pump and had issues with vapor locking with heat.  Converted to the Aeromotive Drop in pump and never looked back.   I ran PTFE lines up the passenger side, just on the outside of Subframe connectors.  Put the regulator in the passenger fender well and deadhead the feed to the FiTech unit, which it is capable of handling.  That way I am not sending fuel into the engine bay to get heated and sending it back to the tank.  Just trying to keep as much heat out of the fuel as possible.  Seems to be working so far in NC summer heat.  Can't even hear the pump with the car on.

Yeah I’ve got a similar setup on my mustang as well for my FiTech . In tank pod style factory pump. It’s awesome and so quiet you can’t hear it . 
On this build I’m gonna stay with a carb but want to run a return line just incase I go injected in the future. 
Just make sure the PTFE fuel line you ran is not the cheap stuff. The fuel running through the line can create a charge and if it does it will arc through the plastic causing pin holes. My mate found out the hard way and the fuel hose has pin holes everywhere.

Understood.  You could possibly do the same set up just use the Carb Regulator.  If you ever switch to EFI, just swap out the regulator.  

And yes the right PTFE is not cheap and I did get the good stuff as I read the same things about the pin holes.  Certainly didn't want that issue.

Shep69 I have a Spectra premium fuel tank with the pump in the tank that has 2 fittings on the sender where the pump is mounted to be able to run a feed & return line. I have not yet decided if I am going to use a carb or go EFI. I am using for the fuel line ni copp (nickel/copper) line that is easy to form & bend & use where the line connects at the fuel tank, fuel filter, & at the engine  Gates barricade fuel injection hose. I am using Aeroquip socket less hose ends for the connections from the hard to the soft lines, & a Quick Fuel fuel pressure regulator if I run a carb.

Hi Mike , 

I’m going to put a EFI pod style pump in my tank. I have a brand new return style regulator similar to the one in your attached message. I’m thinking a EFI pump will flow more flow and pressure that the reg can handle. So if I stay with the carb I may need to add a EFI regulator to reduce the pressure , then that will feed the other carb reg. Aeroflow sell a combo EFI to carb regulator but it’s expensive here in Australia.

Why not put the regulator by the tank so you do not have to run a long return line from the engine compartment to tank?
