REBUILT ALTERNATORS - ANYONE BETTER THAN ANOTHER?

ANY  ALTERNATOR BETTER QUALITY OUT THERE?  THEY ALL CLAIM THEY ARE THE BEST!!   I ONLY NEED THE 55AMP FORD ALTERNATOR BUT WANT TO GET ONE THAT IS

REMANUIFACTURED WITH GOOD QUALITY PARTS.....  ANY IDEAS?

FOR A FORD 6 CYL MUSTANG    NO HIGH OUTPUT

"They all claim they are the best"  just buy the cheapest  from O'reillys or Advance Auto Parts, with lifetime warranties. Keep your receipt, if fail just take it  back. Keep your original if you still got it.

THANKS FOR THE IDEAS.......   POWERMASTER MAKES A NEW ONE BUT CANT SEEM TO GET ANY REVIEWS ON THE LOW AMP ONE.......

I've always had good luck with the rebuilt alternators and starters from NAPA.  I've had problems with those rebuilt items from Orielly's.  I don't know why, they usually come from the same rebuilders.  Maybe the stuff that ends up at NAPA is a little higher quality.

I consider my self fortunate that a local shop rebuilds these two items.  My last NAPA starter was a fiasco.  Just my experience.  Brian

well a lot of rebuilders just replace the bad parts and dont really check or referbush the rest of it...... and it depends where its being done as far as quality control ...

it seems like there is no real shop that is known for excellent service all the time  on these parts.....

Funny, just the opposite in my area.  We have a local generator shop that rebuilds alternators, generators and starters.  Their workmanship is good.  I think the parts they use are poor quality.  It's always a gamble to have them rebuild something.  If you have an odd item, they are your best (usually only) option.

I have had all the box stores fail on me..

I take mine to a local rebuilder who uses all usa parts.. haven't had a failure yet..

Had him fix a Chinese generator/starter for a golf cart from amazon...working for 2+ years now..

the box stores are a gamble....and that napa box if you notice reads   reman in china on the bottom......so there goes your quality.......

i see powermaster advertising new alternators......no reviews on them ?????  cant find any.......

You might be asking too much for just an alternator.  Sadly, most auto parts are imported these days.  I don't like it as much as everybody else.

  i wonder how successful a company would be to build a 100 percent american car these days?  no china   no mexico parts.....  just usa parts.......??

you are right it is sad everything is imported....and china is so unreliable -  i have a maytag washing maching from china that is rusting from the inside out!!!   i should have kept the 18 year old one....it never rusted!!!

i try not to buy anything from china ...but its so hard!!!!
