Mach1 Driver 597 Report post Posted August 1, 2020 (edited) I found a link to these very informative posts on VMF, but the actual posts were on allfordmustangs.com. I have added a previous post by the same author and it is now 9 pages long. He talks about what the ammeter is and how to improve it's sensitivity. Since I plan to switch to Dakota Digital retro tech, I have no need to make the modification, but for those of you that want to actually have a useful (or working) ammeter you will definitely find the attached Word file useful. Kudos to Ivy66GT who went to all the trouble to figure this out. Mach1 Driver 597 Report post Posted November 19 Oh yeah, that was the article I found to increase the sensitivity of the ammeter. I still intend to play with that and let you all know how that worked. In the article he doesn't mention to first clean the contacts in the firewall plug, as is mentioned in other articles. Our cars also have the plug going to the flex circuit added in there. His method was to increase the length of the shunt (wire 38A in our cars), thereby increasing its resistance and forcing more current through the ammeter. The theory is solid and should work with no problem (easy for me to say), and I'll let you know the details... just don't hold your breath ;)

A spammer replied to the thread, which is why it got bumped. The spam's been deleted. Re=reading it got me thinking of giving it a try myself. 1 Mach1 Driver reacted to this
