issues with power steering

Recommended Posts

Having an issue with the turn radius when making a right turn on my 69 mach1. Last few days I heard that sound when power steering fluid is low however its at the right level.  When I take it for a spin, it becomes difficult to make hard turns especially right turns. Is this possibly the power steering cylinder?

Possibly...could also be the control valve...have you noticed any leaking? I am going through something similar...basically rebuilding the whole power steering setup (bad control valve and the new one I bought from NPD also turned out defective).

so it turns out that the welded bolts for power steering extension bracket ripped off the frame.  thats why i was having steering issues.  I had to weld teh bracket.  i've read that the proper way is to weld the extension bracket. this is the extension that is used when installing long tube headers.  so problem solved for now.
