ralt962 11 Report post Posted November 29, 2019 Anyone out there have experience converting to Wilwood disc brakes in the front? I have drums all around. When I built the car I added power brakes with a new 1" master cylinder. I'll have to add the proportioning valve. Any other recommendations?
lanky 44 Report post Posted November 29, 2019 I would buy this if I was converting to discs right now. http://www.streetortrack.com/Street-or-Track-12-Trans-Am-Front-Disk-Brake-Kit-pr-24455.html 1 Grabber70Mach reacted to this
Vicfreg 772 Report post Posted December 1, 2019 I used 1994 Cobra Brakes, and the Mustang Steve Conversion brackets. Fits perfectly. 2 ralt962 and cavboy78 reacted to this

Mike65 475 Report post Posted December 1, 2019 I used the Ford Kelsey/Hayes type 4 piston caliper power disc brake kit from Opentracker Racing. https://opentrackerracing.com/product/ford-kelsey-hayes-type-4-piston-caliper-power-disc-brake-kit-v8-with-manual-transmission-1967-1969-copy/ 1 ralt962 reacted to this
Vicfreg 772 Report post Posted December 1, 2019 Wow, those are really cool! I have sourced some stuff from Open Tracker as well, really nice stuff. I have their roller idler arm and LCAs
MN69Grande 203 Report post Posted December 6, 2019 I have a similar kit as Mike65(Installed about 2012). They work pretty well. But I will say I did have one caliper have a seal fail on me already. Could be my driving though. The nice thing is I could get the parts from Napa to fix it. They can get similar calipers, pads, etc as this was optional equipment on a few cars from I think 1965 through 1968. 1 ralt962 reacted to this
fvike 173 Report post Posted December 8, 2019 It's pretty straight forward, the Wilwood kits come with all you need, except the brake lines. You'll have to order them also. I also got me some safety wire when I did mine. https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/mor-62280/overview/ You'll have to assemble everything, pack the bearings and such. Baer cost a little bit more, but come assembled, with the brake lines.
ralt962 11 Report post Posted December 12, 2019 From the kit I saw it looked like the flex lines are in the kit. But I have seen the lines also sold separately. There must be different kits? I was looking at CJ's https://www.cjponyparts.com/wilwood-front-disc-brake-kit-dynalite-4-piston-11-3-v8-spindles-1965-1966-1967-1969/p/DBF200-V/
