hawkdriver 14 Report post Posted November 10, 2019 Hey guys I’m installing a Hayden dual stage fan relay to a escort early 90s fan. Someone suggested a bigger relay between the Hayden and fan due to the amp draw of the high speed fan does anyone know the high speed fan startup amp draw is there a recommended relay Seems the common referee relay is Bosch 75 as it has the diode Lastly can anyone describe or provide diagram of how to to include this bigger relay not trying to burn my car up in this one. thanks

bigmal 225 Report post Posted November 12, 2019 I have just returned my second Derale Duel fan controller. Both failed within seconds of installation. I've gone back to conventional relays.

Vicfreg 771 Report post Posted November 13, 2019 I also ditched the Derale units, they are crap. I used one from this company. It is a PWM controller. Used on military and commercial vehicles. Comes with an available in-line radiator hose sensor. Works great. His company has an odd name, but the construction is top notch. On my engine test stand, I was able to control the temperature of my engine within +/- 2 degrees. I am running 2- 12" NASCAR (Maradyne) cooling fans. I have not used his but i know many people that have and many have high horse engines, and everyone of them raves about it them, and he uses high quality parts. He has probably been making them since before anyone else. He only sells direct and does not sell them thru stores. This is a sideline business for him. .
