Looks like the firewall side of the bracket Clubsport posted is bent 90 degrees, your bracket does not have a bend at one end. The bracket on my 69 coupe with auto also has a 90 bent at fire wall side and it is attached to one of the brake booster studs.

Look closely at the bracket it has been bent “strait” at the original 90. Carefully bend it back to the correct 90. Possibly a little heat to help ensure it does not fracture.

Dash bracket for sure.  jmlay is right.  The left end in your picture needs to be bent to a 90 degree angle.  Put the small end in a vice and slowly tap with a dead blow hammer until it bends over.   Get yourself the Assembly Manuals. Worth their weight in gold.  Shows all the details.
