Mike65 475 Report post Posted October 7, 2019 ClubSport is correct, it goes from the r/s lower stud/bolt on the brake/clutch pedal bracket at the firewall to the lower dash.

The bracket on my 69 coupe with auto also has a 90 bent at fire wall side and it is attached to one of the brake booster studs.
jmlay 80 Report post Posted October 7, 2019 Look closely at the bracket it has been bent “strait” at the original 90. Carefully bend it back to the correct 90. Possibly a little heat to help ensure it does not fracture.
Vicfreg 772 Report post Posted October 9, 2019 Dash bracket for sure. jmlay is right. The left end in your picture needs to be bent to a 90 degree angle. Put the small end in a vice and slowly tap with a dead blow hammer until it bends over. Get yourself the Assembly Manuals. Worth their weight in gold. Shows all the details.
