MikeStang 247 Report post Posted September 21, 2019 So I happen to have a set of brand new 351C comp rockers in 1.73 ratio and was wondering if I could run them on my 408W with my AFR heads? The rockers require 7/16 rocker studs which my AFR heads have. Would just like to get a little more lift out of my Little roller cam. Will these work? barnett468 418 Report post Posted September 21, 2019 yes if the roller tip is not near the edge of the valve tip and the push rod does not hit the head.
Rsanter 152 Report post Posted September 23, 2019 There are two things to look at with a rocker arm. ration and center to center dimensions a rocker arm that is 2” on one side and 1” on the other has the same ration as one with 4” on one side and 2” on the other. But they obviously won’t be interchangeable
Vicfreg 771 Report post Posted September 26, 2019 MIke, watch the valve to piston clearance with the 1.73 rockers. Too much lift can do that. May also need to evaluate your pushrod length to accommodate the higher lift. Rsanter has excellent points also, look at the distance between the pivot point and the end of rocker for each type to make sure they are close dimensionally....
