I wanted to be able to know my actual temp and oil pressure so I installed gauges on my pillar

But I want my gauges to work in the cluster also

is this possible?

my mechanic told me it’s not possible to have the gauges working in the cluster and the pillars gauges at the same time.

cant I just install a T?

Only if they have completely separate sending units, gauge wiring and gauge power.

A T on oil pressure will work fine, but if you use it for temperature the tips of both sensors will not be directly in the flow of coolant fluid.  They might read  a few degrees cooler than if the sensor tip was installed right in the coolant flow passage.

Coolant temp sensors will not operate any where close to correct unless the sensor is fully submerged in the coolant flow.  So having two functioning temp gauges is a little tricky since most intake manifolds only have one correct location for the sensor.  For best results you would need to drill and tap another location for the second coolant sensor.  Then it's a bit of a gamble that the intake manifold material is thick enough where you drill to obtain a good seal when finished.
