Shep69 149 Report post Posted June 10, 2019 Holy shit they are expensive . Why don't you use the old style rat trap starter. Ive always had a good run from them and they are cheap .

JET 445 43 Report post Posted June 10, 2019 What about a 6 cylinder Falcon starter, I know they work on Clevos and you can get them for almost nothing.
ClubSport 29 Report post Posted June 10, 2019 Hello I am using the same kind a starter on my 351w and had some issues with the solenoid : - it is easily rebuildable ( Denso ) - The solenoid needs a good power On wire : I added a 50 Amp relay to feed the solenoid - I added a thermo shield to prevent heat soaking

I agree, after reading the instructions the solenoid needs a good power on wire. I installed mine per instructions and installed a short 10 ga. jumper wire between the battery post terminal and the power terminal on the starter's solenoid. The stock fender mounted starter relay is wired as original. So far all is okay.
