3Katz 26 Report post Posted May 13, 2019 I'm stripping down the car for a rebuild and after reading the good comments on NPD rear window seal I'm wanting to place an order for a full rubber and felt kit. I have two massive wear marks in the glass where a rear louver was sitting at some stage and rubbing away. I need new glass and have read a bit about repro glass varying in thickness depending on manufacturer. Has anyone got any info on where I can get a good replacement rear window? mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted May 13, 2019 Currently we get all the glass from Auto City Classic, they are in Minnesota.

1969_Mach1 333 Report post Posted May 13, 2019 The original glass is Carlite brand. Ford still uses that same brand today. Carlite is still available for these older Mustangs. Double check, I think Carlite is what NPD sells.
Ridge Runner 1,112 Report post Posted May 13, 2019 Carlite windshields are still made ,but they are thinner than the original ,they look and fit well but you have to be carefull setting them
aslanefe 333 Report post Posted May 13, 2019 Depending on how deep the scratches are, you can use cerium oxide to remove them.
3Katz 26 Report post Posted May 13, 2019 The scratches are deep grooves, no polishing out unfortunately. That's good to know about carlite as well, which would you use Ridge, do you have a preference?
Ridge Runner 1,112 Report post Posted May 13, 2019 Still carlite

If the scratch is deep enough to feel with your finger nail, then it's not coming out.
