Viperpete 36 Report post Posted May 8, 2019 Has anyone ever installed the radiator on the front of the core support? I am going to go with a custom size when the project is at that point- but i was wondering if anyone has done it. Might free up some space in the engine bay is why im asking. Planning on going with electric fans too with a home made aluminum shroud.
lanky 44 Report post Posted May 8, 2019 Yes, I actually finished that recently. I ordered a 3 core aluminum champion radiator with wider brackets than they sell to mount to radiator support. I am running the contour electric fan setup, 351w. In between shroud and water pump snout is about 1/2"-3/4". 1 JayEstes reacted to this

lanky 44 Report post Posted May 10, 2019 EDIT: Apology, I misunderstood the initial question. I did what I said, but not to the front of radiator support. I was thinking 'mounted directly to radiator support', as-in using the ears on the radiator to mount directly to support. Didn't read 'in front of' --apologies
barnett468 418 Report post Posted May 11, 2019 You would have to remove the hood latch to put one in the front. Unless you have a non ford engine or moved the engine forward you font need to put it in front.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted May 12, 2019 On a 69-70 you just need to trim the inside edge of the radiator support to get more clearance. 1 RPM reacted to this
