mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted April 9, 2020 The rear wheel openings on a Cougar are about 3 inches longer than a Mustang. We did go ahead and make our Watt's link fit them.

mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted May 1, 2020 Actually I was just giving them more time to think about LOL. They took it out for a test drive today, and it runs strong.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted June 4, 2020 Well, the Cougar is still here. After swapping out the 3rd member twice because of a noise, we found out it was the new tranny the customer got from American Power Train. We pulled it and found it was full of metal shavings. They had us send it back so they could go through it. Here's where it gets bad, we inspect before installing it and it's still full of shavings. The customer call the company and they basically tell him to go pound sand. It never fails, anytime a customer furnished his own motor or tranny, we always have a problem. Grabber70Mach 107 Report post Posted June 4, 2020 Car looks great Rich. Awe man it's always something, shame a company won't stand behind their product. Hopefully a solution can be found soon.

I think I'd have to charge that to the customer, but I suspect you ate it. The time to diagnose and replace is unproductive if you're not getting paid for it. Must be very frustrating for you. Regardless, doesn't speak well of American Power Train. Car looks great, Rich.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted June 4, 2020 Looks like Tremec has gotten involved and will be taking care of it . We normally eat a lot of labor to help the customers out.

mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted June 19, 2020 Looks like everyone is giving our customer a run around on the tranny. He decided to just buy another new one so we can finish the car. I'm sure he will be talking to American Power Train later. 1 Grabber70Mach reacted to this
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted July 7, 2020 Doing a photo shoot with the Cougar tonight. The owner ended up buying another new tranny, neither American Powertrain or Tremec would stand behind it.

LoneWolf2U 136 Report post Posted July 13, 2020 I would like to suggest that they take a trip to NYC and try out the traction control along 5th ave. I'm sure the letters will show they need wider rear tires. LOL 1 newstang reacted to this
