newstang 388 Report post Posted April 29, 2019 Ok, the rubber i bought for my fastback was crap, very hard and not pliable. Does anyone make a good soft rubber window gasket? mine leaks despite all the crap i put around it.
lanky 44 Report post Posted April 29, 2019 I wish you the best of luck on this. I had mine done three times, by "professionals". Leaked worse than when I first brought it in, all three times! I have a gasket for my coupe somewhere that I bought and haven't gotten around to doing it yet.
newstang 388 Report post Posted April 29, 2019 I cant believe how bad they are ! there has to be a softer rubber one that seals

RPM 1,190 Report post Posted April 30, 2019 I bought mine from NPD, and had Ridge Runner install it. It's still pliable and leak free.

moodster 55 Report post Posted April 30, 2019 I followed RidgeRunner's suggestions on how to install and mine leaks in the driver's side rear corner. I'm not sure how since I put a bunch of that 3M sealant around it and I used the strip caulk on the inside of the gasket. I'm still trying to figure out where it is leaking from (smacks forehead). david
Ridge Runner 1,113 Report post Posted April 30, 2019 Could be between the glass and the rubber ,that needs to be sealed well also. If you instal the window on a warm day they seam to seal a lot better as the rubber is warmed up and so is the sealer
moodster 55 Report post Posted April 30, 2019 I think it is between the glass and the rubber because it doesn't leak at first only if the water sits in that corner and then it just pours out and done... not a slow leak... is there no way to fix it except to take the glass back out? Ridge Runner 1,113 Report post Posted April 30, 2019 Sealer ,set it in the sun ,cut the tip small on the end and force it between the rubber and glass and squeeze ,squeeze squeeze
