Hiding powered subwoofer behind quarter trim panels?

Recommended Posts

I have a small powered subwoofer.  It will PHYSICALLY fit behind the panel, but would require some bracketry.  Question is, would it be a good idea?  Semi-worried about rattles and vibration.  But it would make for a stealthy install.

there is a lot of misunderstanding as to how a sub woofer works thanks to lots of misinformation online and even from some mfg's, but to make a long story short, yes, it will deliver better sound if it is facing the inside of the cabin with no obstructions like bolting it to the panel with lots of holes drilled in the panel, but in general, speakers work better if they have some type of enclosure, and enclosure design is a science unto itself.
