mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 3, 2018 NPD and CJ Pony didn't have them. I need one, but if they aren't being reproduced I'll start making them.
Midlife 838 Report post Posted October 3, 2018 Check West Coast Cougar Classics: they sell a lot of used parts and this part may be interchangeable between Cougars and Mustangs.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 3, 2018 Mustang's unlimited don't have them. I'm thinking they aren't being reproduced :(
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 3, 2018 Just dropped the OEM part off at our manufacturer, we will be making them out of stainless steel :) 1 RPM reacted to this
CG in TX 16 Report post Posted October 3, 2018 The new hood I ordered from Dynacorn came with one. I don't remember if they sell them individually.
CG in TX 16 Report post Posted October 3, 2018 Stainless would be great. The Dynacorn piece comes with an E coating like the hood. When you paint the striker, the paint chips from the latch and it looks bad.
barnett468 418 Report post Posted October 3, 2018 I think I have one if anyone needs one quickly. .
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 3, 2018 We checked with Dynacorn, and they don't sell it.. not to say they didn't include it with a new hood.

mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted January 13, 2019 These are on our website now. If our manufacturer would have given us a quote on the cost before running them, we probably wouldn't have made them. They are hand made and tig welded, plus made in the good ol' USA. We are actually selling them at cost. I'm sure sooner or later Scott Drake will make them for half the cost. https://shop.mustangstofear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_31_521&products_id=559&zenid=qgvti7id8a9lq28vce5iopj5q6
RPM 1,247 Report post Posted January 14, 2019 What welding is involved? Pic doesn't show any.
69NC 24 Report post Posted January 14, 2019 Look closely the top bolt eye piece is welded on.
aslanefe 346 Report post Posted January 14, 2019 To me, it looks like both ends are welded to the round piece in the middle.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted January 14, 2019 Both ends are welded on . The 65 -68 are made in a press and just flattened out . That takes a huge press to do that
RPM 1,247 Report post Posted January 14, 2019 Ok, I see it now.

GypsyR 34 Report post Posted January 19, 2019 Interesting take on that part. My first thought on duplicating one was some round mild steel stock combined with some blacksmithing. 1 RPM reacted to this
Rsanter 158 Report post Posted January 19, 2019 I guess they didn’t have a big enough press to do it the way the factory did 1 mwye0627 reacted to this
