Rad covers

Has anyone used Rad covers ? These are panels that fill in the gap between the grill and rad support. Supposedly they keep the air from flowing around the rad instead of through it.

Yes, that's what I meant. Is it strictly for looks or are they functional ?

I've also seen them moulded out of plastic

I've not gotten the car on the road yet, so I don't know. But it does box off the area. With a good shroud behind the radiator, it won't hurt.

Just for general info. If you have an overheating or hot running problem, this will have little effect on fixing it, especially if the problem is at low speed but not high speed.

I use it, looks great. I actually think it hurts with cooling. Im running 220 degrees vs.180 before.  Although I must say I swapped out the engine too so I may be wrong.

I would run that engine a little cooler.

These are just my thoughts.  It looks different, NOT better.  It's an old car why emulate features of todays new cars.  If somebody prefers features of todays new cars, buy a new car.
