EastYorkStang 63 Report post Posted September 30, 2018 Has anyone used Rad covers ? These are panels that fill in the gap between the grill and rad support. Supposedly they keep the air from flowing around the rad instead of through it.
fvike 173 Report post Posted September 30, 2018 Do you mean one like this? They got 'em at NPD. https://www.npdlink.com/1965-1973-mustang/body-exterior/body-parts-and-sheet-metal/radiator-support/custom-details?top_parent=1&year=1969
EastYorkStang 63 Report post Posted September 30, 2018 Yes, that's what I meant. Is it strictly for looks or are they functional ? I've also seen them moulded out of plastic
fvike 173 Report post Posted September 30, 2018 I've not gotten the car on the road yet, so I don't know. But it does box off the area. With a good shroud behind the radiator, it won't hurt.

barnett468 418 Report post Posted September 30, 2018 Just for general info. If you have an overheating or hot running problem, this will have little effect on fixing it, especially if the problem is at low speed but not high speed.
newstang 388 Report post Posted October 1, 2018 I use it, looks great. I actually think it hurts with cooling. Im running 220 degrees vs.180 before. Although I must say I swapped out the engine too so I may be wrong. has anyone else had a temp increase?

1969_Mach1 333 Report post Posted October 2, 2018 These are just my thoughts. It looks different, NOT better. It's an old car why emulate features of todays new cars. If somebody prefers features of todays new cars, buy a new car.
