1969 Coupe Front Brake Line Diagram for Disc Brakes

Helping my step-son putting the mustang back together. The mustang was a front drum brake car and we are switching over to disc brakes. Already have the new booster with proportioning valve. Also have the SSBC Front disc kit. We ordered the front brake line kit from Jegs, and I don't have a clue where all the parts go and where they mount to.

 

Anyone have some insight, diagrams or pictures that they can share. Any help would be appreciated.

My 69 Coupe was a front drum brake car & I converted it over to front disc brakes. I got the disc brake line kit from Classic Tube & modified them as needed. I cut the lines going to the front brake caliper flex line & re-flared it, & moved the "L" bracket where the flex & hard lines join. I also installed the disc brake proportioning valve & distribution block like they had on the factory disc brake cars in the factory spot on the l/s rear inner fender panel.

Those pictures helps out a lot. I just didn't want to start cutting up the lines since the are "supposed" to fit in stock locations. Guess the next step is to start figuring out where to cut and bend.

Any chances of showing how you ran the lines along the firewall?

There is a post on the Boss 302 registry forum that has a good pic, if you click on the link I provided, scroll down to the 4th post there is a pic of how the brake lines from the disc brake proportioning valve/distribution block run across the firewall. There is also a good closeup of how the lines connect to the proportioning valve/distribution block. I used that same picture when running the brake lines on my 69 Coupe.

I just got mine installed in my 69FB conversion from Drums to front power disc.  When doing the master cylinder, proportioning valve and distribution block lines the order you install them matters.

I had most of mine in and had to remove them and install in a different order.

Install the proportioning lines before installing the Master cylinder.  After getting the Master cylinder in connect them to the distribution block

Next install the master cylinder line to the distribution block closest to the firewall then the other one.

Thank you everyone for your help. I am working this for my step son. So far it has been a 5 year project. Parts bought over the years by his dad and me. Hence why I was so confused on the "stock brake line routing". After I saw the pictures I realized that the booster/master cylinder and proportioning valve were not stock replacement. I was still able to make everything work with all the pieces that were in the kit. Had to reflare/cut/bend some of the SS lines. Huge trick on that was to lightly sand the faces of the double flare clamp to get more bite. Cut the lines with a fine tooth hack saw and anneal the tip. Did not have any splits or irregular double flares.

What if it starts responding to EVERY post ever written on this site? Bob, Phil, and of course Ben, since this could easily take the forum down, I'm thinking you probably need to formulate a plan.

Maybe Liya12 should visit VMF, seems to be some over there that has no useful information but just communicate with someone to run their post number up.

Great, just another thing to look out for. It does begin to explain some responses though doesn't it?

Some estimates say that half of internet activity is now by AI bots. As recently as five years ago that would have been unthinkable.

Yes Terry u are correct, there are more AI Bots on facebook than are humans I think.
