Rear Axle Bumper Supports

Recommended Posts

I am restoring a 1969 Mach1 big block, that was a very competitive drag race car in it's day.  As a drag race car, the original owner cut off the steel brackets on the rear frame rails to which the rubber bumpers attach.  Obviously, this was done to make clearance for wide racing slicks.  However, as a street car, I would like to find a pair of these brackets.  If anyone has an old rusted body which they are parting out, that still has these brackets on it, i would be happy to pay for cutting them off the frame.  I can cut the frame away from the brackets, to get down to the bare bracket, which I can then weld to the frame of this car I am restoring.  Thank you for any help you can give me.

Do you have any from a 1969 Mustang that you would like to sell?  I want an original set and don't mind a little surface rust, as long as it has not damaged the strength of the bracket.  As long as the bracket is all there, I can cut away any of the frame rail which remains.  Thank you.
