remove door plunger switch

Minor question, but does anyone have a way or removing the plunger switch without chewing up the body paint?

Wrap some electrical tape on a straight blade screwdriver  or on a door panel clip remover & pop it out with that.

or remove the kick panel and push it out from the back side.

That's correct, that's how they are made to be removed.

I was able to pop it out without removing the kick panel.  Although new it was a bad switch.  Replaced it and now working fine.  Didnt chew up the paint which was fortunate.  

The park brake would need to go along with the kick panel.  They basically go together.

I got these as a gift and it gives several tools for getting stuff like the subject switch out without worrying about the paint.  This whole set is only $10 as opposed to the 1 metal tool you can get at advance auto.
