70 Vert, new project

Recommended Posts

Bought this car yesterday, coming home today. Floor pans already replaced, brazed, with min rust on one lower door. 302 mtr went thru 15 years ago and wasn’t  touched after that. Only thing missing is the carpet. Oh, came with a shaker hood and complete shaker scoop/air cleaner.

Right. There were about 14,000 1969/1970 Shelby's produced

There were around 7,500 1970 Mustang Convertibles produced, about the same amount as the 1970 Boss (302 and 429) Mustangs.

So, yes they are getting hard to find.  The good thing is that they share some rare parts with the '69 Mustangs and the Cougar convertibles.....

Around 7000 is the number built, the first one I built and sold, fetched 22000.00. This one, I will take longer to build and have a little fun with it..not so much all original, but no butchering. Thinking about dropping my spare 390/C6 in it. Weird thing is, this one too was originally ivy green that had been repainted white, dashavue. Pictures attached are from the first one I built 6 years ago

46 days since she came home and we took Christine around the block tonight for her maiden voyage. Christine was the name my son , Clayton, gave her before we got the wires hooked up right on the solinoid....and she was starting on her own. Clayton has done a great job putting her back together off the "to do list" I've been giving him. Dash, carpet, console, door panels, rear quart glass, bumpers, valence, headers, radiator, fan, and trans cooling lines. It's kinda nice to sit back and watch him work while I'm the chasing the wrenches. He turned 20 yesterday, so I believe the drive was the best gift of all. Next stop will be the exhaust shop, then the power steering. Pics coming soon
