TomM 25 Report post Posted February 25, 2018 The PO of my 70 FB cut large speaker holes in the lower section of the original interior quarter trim panels. Otherwise, they appear to be in good shape. Short of placing a nice 6x9 speaker grille over the hole, has anyone successfully repaired these? I understand these may be fiberglass. I can glass in some fiberglass mat on the backside, just not sure how to fill in the thickness of the panel - from the mat to the front face of the panel. aslanefe 333 Report post Posted February 26, 2018 You can build up the thickness with fiberglass. Or if you have an other fiber scrap part with the thickness close to your panel, cut pieces from it to plug the holes and put a bigger layer of fiberglass on the back to brace the plug. 69ShelbyGT350H 61 Report post Posted February 26, 2018 The panels are textured. For small areas, I use wrinkle paint. Heat it for big wrinkles and then sand the peaks off to get the texture.
