Mike65 475 Report post Posted January 27, 2018 I would rebuild the ones you have & contact MUSTANGSTEVE about getting the parts to have greasable door hinges with the zerk fittings. Either you can DIY or have MUSTANGSTEVE do it. Here is a link to his page. https://www.mustangsteve.com/hinge.html 2 SWPruett and Chelby-Ann reacted to this

Bob & Sue 110 Report post Posted January 27, 2018 West Coast Classic Cougars Mustangs has the rebuilt with zerk fitting. They also have a good you tube video on changing the hinge pin without removing the door. https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/69zhinge-right.html?attribs=88 Also has the rebuild kit with zerk fitting for 2 hinges. https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/69zhinge-right.html?attribs=

69RavenConv 286 Report post Posted January 28, 2018 Replacing the OEM style pins and bronze bushings is also an option for less money. That's what I did. https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/bush.html Granted, it's not nearly as robust as the grease filled zerk kits but it is a lot cheaper. When these cars were daily drivers and the doors were getting opened and closed a dozen times a day, 365 days a year, the hinges wore out. I figure my car is now a toy that gets driven a a couple dozen times a year so the OEM style should last me a lifetime. The zerk style would probably last 5 lifetimes but that's more than I'm going to need. :) 2 Chelby-Ann and Caseyrhe reacted to this
Vicfreg 772 Report post Posted January 29, 2018 I did the bushing install with a kit that had zirc fittings, and did not have to weld them in. I will have to go look to see where I got them, but very happy with the result. I would not buy aftermarket hinges......
Rsanter 152 Report post Posted February 1, 2018 The replacement bushing and pins are easy to replace unless the stamped part is bad I would rebuild what I had. i did that with my 69 no problem
CG in TX 16 Report post Posted February 1, 2018 No issues with my new Dynacorn hinges. To me it seems easier than messing with the old worn out ones.
