Headlight/Electrical Problem

Recommended Posts

On my 69 Sportsroof I noticed  the passenger side low beam headlight was out when I turn on the high beams.  It works fine on low beam.  The lights are Scott Drake's halogen lights.  They are 2 years old but only 1 hour of usage since I rarely drive it at night.   The other 3 headlights seem to work as they should.  I have the Painless wiring kit and a relay.  Any ideas?  Thanks Mark

Does it have voltage (probably not)? Show us a diagram for the Painless wiring kit/relay and we can help you diagnose the problem. Painless has lots of kits but there isn't anything specific to a 69 Mustang headlight relay kit that I can find. Its probably a bad relay or a loose connection somewhere.

Bad headlight... I have had the same problems with Scott Drake Halogens from CJ Pony.  They just blow filaments for some reason. They replaced with two new ones and one of them was bad in the box.

Remove and check continuity on the prongs.
