Wheel backspacing

Getting ready to buy some new rims.

Front 15/7 inch with 4 inch back spacing.

Rear 15/8 with 4,1/4 inch back spacing.

Chrome 12 slot steel wheels , will these work with car.

I went with OE steel wheels 15x7 - 4,25BS and 15x8 - 4,50BS just to be safe. It's the same as standard Magnum 500's with the same width.

I have 7x 15 Magnum 500s with 225/60 on the front and 245/60 on th erear. The rears look a little balloony so I will be going to 8/15 on the rear. I can use one of the old wheels for the spar although a little bulky.

Your front will be fine but 4.25 backspace will not work on the rear, 4.5 will work with a 235  but if you want to fit a 245 I think 4.75 will be safer, this is for standard fenders, if you flatten the lip you might be able to use 4.25 backspace. I am looking at same size wheels in the Superlite from Transam Race Engineering, very nice wheel and cheap as-$250 per wheel.

Buying the wheels is easy, the real hard part is finding tires for the 8 inch rims, you only have about 4 choices and they are all crap.
