Ridge Runner 1,112 Report post Posted September 1, 2017 A 56 Ford fairlane toy .paid a whole $1,000 fer it. It came with boxes of parts .The body has one dent ,more of a ding .All the stainless is dent free. The floors are rust free but have been painted black at one time or another..the only thing i can find that is funky is the floor shifter patch some one splatter welded in ,not a problem i can fix that.there is two of just about everything so no problem locating parts . It doesnt look pretty but it is very straight and clean ,This one is going to be fun . 2 1 Caseyrhe, mwye0627 and latoracing reacted to this

JD08 42 Report post Posted September 2, 2017 Where are you ever going to find hubcaps for it? 1 69RavenConv reacted to this
Ridge Runner 1,112 Report post Posted September 5, 2017 I have hubcaps for days and days haha. I found a vindecoder for 56 and it looks like it was special order color buckskin and colonial white . I sanded some of the primer off driver side rear quarter and this thing is the straightest body i have seen for a 56,i cant wait to get the body on the rotisserie .i will probably paint it like the turquoise one below
69RavenConv 286 Report post Posted September 5, 2017 The Buckskin is cool but those late 1950's cars were just made for turquoise :) Looks like a fun project. 1 Ridge Runner reacted to this
Ridge Runner 1,112 Report post Posted September 6, 2017 There is just somthing special about finding an unmollested car, never been painted although it had been primerd, there is not a trace of bondo so far and i really dont think there is any.the fenders would have been perfect except ,the wind storm the other night blew this one over and made a slight dent in the side . No problem though ,this heavy metal is easy to knock out a dent
Ridge Runner 1,112 Report post Posted September 6, 2017 Only just hanging in place ,but man do the panels line up nice

RPM 1,190 Report post Posted December 1, 2017 You must've looked like a genius to the kid when you got it started. You have any plans for the front seats, front and rear brakes and the fuel pump cut-off switch? Are they gonna be for sale once you don't need to roll it around on its wheels? If so, I'd like to jump in line.
Ridge Runner 1,112 Report post Posted December 2, 2017 Front brakes are for sale ,brand new pads and fresh turned rotors. The seats will be going in my 35 . I think i will hang on to the rear end ,355 posie. Fuel pump cut off switch is good ,its in the front kick panel The kid had that...how the hell did you get that to start look on his face when it started haha The rack and pinnion will be for sale ,i need to pull the motor and tranny while it still rolls though
Ridge Runner 1,112 Report post Posted December 7, 2017 Looks like the rear end is to wide for the 56 so i will be selling it,it is a posie with 331s,brakes are also new
RPM 1,190 Report post Posted December 7, 2017 Who'd a thunk? I guess with the crazy offsets the new cars have it makes sense.
Ridge Runner 1,112 Report post Posted December 7, 2017 I bolted the radiator support in place and bolted on the fender aprons just to see how big the engine compartment is ,the 4.6 will fit with ease. I will have to pull the motor and transmission and get some mounts made . I am going to sandblast the inner aprons and radiator support and get them in epoxy primer, the fender just setting ther lines right up
