MAC390 327 Report post Posted August 13, 2017 What rust remover does everyone use. I might have seen it posted here before. There is an organic one that seems to work but cannot remember it's name, (getting older) Thanks
Midlife 814 Report post Posted August 13, 2017 You can dilute industrial-based molasses, and soak the rusty part in it for a day or so, then wash off. It's used in your part of the world quite a bit; Google may be your friend.
JD08 42 Report post Posted August 13, 2017 Evapo-rust is biodegradable, non-toxic, non-flammable and non-corrosive. I used it recently and it does a great job. You just need to take your part out after 24 hours or a black film will develop.
Raven R code 281 Report post Posted August 13, 2017 +1 on evaporust. Great on small parts. It is magic as far as I'm concerned. I took a part that was rusty and scaley.....after soaking for 24hrs, it was clean as a whistle...i mean the surface looked brand new. No pit marks either. I'm not sure what material causes rust scale but on most parts there is no evidence of lost material.
