Raven R code 281 Report post Posted July 13, 2017 Got dynacorn doors for my build. After fitting and painting I find that the push button hardware ( the piece that is hinged for the lock mechanism) is too tight of a fit to mount the handle. It appears the door skin may have been crimped to close to the big opening for the door handle and that hinged piece hits the door shell. Now I'm not sure what to do now that everything is painted. I may see if the original door hardware is somehow narrower and might fit better. Ugh!
RPM 1,190 Report post Posted July 13, 2017 The door handle button area on Dynacorn skin is a common problem where the door frame interferes with the parts inside the shell.. I'm sure those who had to fix them will reply.
JET 445 43 Report post Posted July 13, 2017 If you have reproduction handles they could be the problem, the ones I bought were rubbish, they would not fit through the hole in the doorskin and I had to fit all the original internal linkages to the new handles, if I were to do it again I would rechrome the original handles. Raven R code 281 Report post Posted July 13, 2017 I have the original door handles.......I think I'll send them out for plating if they fit better.
69 Cruzin 4 Report post Posted July 14, 2017 Is there anyone out there that does door handle plating? I have a couple originals that pitted pretty bad. Thanks
