Caseyrhe 650 Report post Posted May 7, 2017 Any ideal what this is for? Does it even go on a 69 Mach? Found it in a box of many parts for my brothers car? Can in picture for size reference, about 3' long, 3/8 wide, with three holes in it, center and about 2" from each end.
TexasEd 188 Report post Posted May 8, 2017 Is it flat or tubular? Reminds me of the kick down rod on an automatic transmission car that has been straightened out or maybe a window part. But I'm just guessing.
RPM 1,190 Report post Posted May 8, 2017 Hmm...my 69 doesn't have one on it.
Caseyrhe 650 Report post Posted May 8, 2017 It's flat. I'm telling you, it's like where's Waldo digging thru the boxes, new stuff, old stuff, I'm in search of the heater cable clip that attaches to the fixed half on the heater box now. I'm finding a lot of the stuff I gave him after I sold my Mach in 85 too.
mustangmike6996 34 Report post Posted May 9, 2017 That doesn't look like a part that I ran across on my 69 Sportroof. Are you sure its a factory part? Does it have a PN stamped into it?
Caseyrhe 650 Report post Posted May 9, 2017 Nothing but 3 holes and a Ford looking Phillips head screw. I had not seen it on my car either, but thought I'd throw it out there
detompkins 1 Report post Posted May 9, 2017 It looks like the backing strip for the hood nose trim
Vicfreg 771 Report post Posted May 10, 2017 The hood trim plate has a lot of holes in it. (see diagram I posted) I have a piece similar to the one you show that I think came off of my 1970 mustang convertible top. I think it retained a piece of weather stripping.... Caseyrhe 650 Report post Posted May 10, 2017 The fact it was blasted with a lot of his other parts, means it might go on the car. Will save it of course, might be the last piece of the puzzle
mustangmike6996 34 Report post Posted May 12, 2017 Did you send the car out to get blasted? Maybe it belongs to someone else's car and got mixed up with your parts.
Caseyrhe 650 Report post Posted May 12, 2017 Brother had it done 7-8 years ago when car got painted. Everything has been in boxes that long and I'm putting his car together for him. I didn't come across anything like this putting mine together so throwing it out there to see if anyone has come across this piece
stuart 13 Report post Posted May 12, 2017 That's not a 1969 Mustang part that I've ever run across after 33 years in the obsession. Stu
