JayEstes 172 Report post Posted June 19, 2017 Bump this topic! No answers? What fuel pump are you guys all running? My 302 just started exhibiting signs of bad fuel pump, and I am looking for: Ways to check the pump to see how much pressure it is putting out Spec PSI performance from a pump (isn't it 5-7 psi?) Recommendations fora brand to buy that won't crap out after 1-2 years like the last 2 I have bought! Advice please!
jholmes217 65 Report post Posted June 20, 2017 What's the gas like there in Italy Paul? Do you have the problems with ethanol in the gas like we do here in the U.S.? What carburetor are you using?
MN69Grande 203 Report post Posted June 20, 2017 Just what I'm running. I have a Holley 12-289-11 with an external fuel pressure regulator Holley 12-803. This is over kill on a stock 302 car, but if you have gone 4bbl and upped the cam a bit it is a very nice combination. Technically a Holley can handle the pressure from the pump without a regulator but I found it was border line and the carb tended to run rich.
