Guillaume69 150 Report post Posted December 29, 2016 I can't help thinking there's something fishy about this add. Colors are mixed, but above all, is that really the market price for an S-code? http://topclassiccarsforsale.com/ford/226468-1969fordmustangflemings-ultimate-garage.html What do you guys think? MAC390 327 Report post Posted December 29, 2016 I have a S code and my trans is a C 6 I thought fmx were behind the small blocks. I could be wrong.
STL. Mark 11 Report post Posted January 8, 2017 Mac I found a couple of S code 1969 Mustangs for sale and they all list C-6 for the transmission too. Also I found a FMX on eBay and it says it is NOT compatible with the 1969 Mustang 390. Looks like it stops at the 351.
Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted January 8, 2017 I believe the FMX were also used on big block applications before the C6 replaced it.
jholmes217 65 Report post Posted January 9, 2017 I can see that amount for a clean S code. It's a factory big block muscle car, and the prices for the 428 Cobra Jet and definitely the Boss 429s cars are now out of price range of the average Joe. I paid $17,500 for my Q code 428 Mach 1 in 2010, and that was for a car with a 1966 "A scratch" 428 engine block, a tranny that has problems, and in black primer that ran like crap.
