Tain 63 Report post Posted December 17, 2016 I have found out after buying my car that the passenger side of the car was in an accident by the crude work that has been done to fix ti by a previous owner of the car. I am looking for a way to either stretch the b pillar out or a used mustang passenger b pillar to replace it. any ideas on how i could fix it? 7 joledVem, Selmadox, koledVem and 4 others reacted to this

Rsanter 152 Report post Posted December 19, 2016 You need to strip the paint and bondo to see what you really have there. Sometimes old damage can be fixed without too much trouble and sometimes their toast. I have a door jamb for the pass side but not the qtr panel Bob 1 RPM reacted to this
unilec 57 Report post Posted December 20, 2016 It really needs replacing, if you can find a used one in good condition that would be better. Do you have the floor out as well?

moodster 55 Report post Posted December 20, 2016 Yeh, you should definitely replace that; it is too far gone to save. If you can buy the replacement sheetmetal then try to replace it at the factory joints... that is always the easiest. david
Tain 63 Report post Posted December 20, 2016 I can't really find a coupe one but I can find a fastback one and modify it
unilec 57 Report post Posted December 20, 2016 Just remember to weld braces in to support the car body shape, once you start to remove panel its easy for the body line to distort.

OK, so seems that you are removing a lot of panels, so maybe a good idea to mount the body onto a support frame as well as braces. Start a build thread with lots of photos as a project, you will get a lot more help there.

Mike65 475 Report post Posted July 17, 2017 Tain, try contacting http://www.usedmustangparts.net/brcm.htm I have purchased used parts from him before. IIRC he has a Mustang wrecking yard in Virginia, his name is James. It is Blue Ridge Classic Mustang.

Ridge Runner 1,112 Report post Posted July 20, 2017 I am doing the same repair now on a 67 fast back ,only the quarter is good .i had new striker post left over from a coupe to fast back conversion. It is a total pain in the butt to remove them with the quarters on
Tain 63 Report post Posted July 20, 2017 mines going to be more of a pain since the entire passenger side had a shitty accident repair. I suspect there is over lapping metal and crumpled pieces. I also have no experience in metalworking. I just don't know what to do about it.\
aslanefe 333 Report post Posted July 26, 2017 I see some pop rivets inside; looks like a piece of quarter has been riveted over the old one.
