Anyone have Goodyear Polyglas GT Tires?

Recommended Posts

Is anyone here running the old style Goodyear Polyglas tires on your Mustang? I need a high res photo of an F60-15 tire for a project I'm working on. In short, I'm having some Tire Stickers made up so I can make new radial tires look like an original muscle car tire. It might look cool to add raised white letters to drag radials. or.... it might look odd. Either way it will be cheap to experiment.

I happen to have the spare tire that is the original polyglass tire and I believe it's an F60-15 I can try a snap a pic tomorrow, Anything in particular your looking for? I don't know if it has the sticker, I doubt it does.

Hi tonyinsandiego, Just checking to see if you got my IM? Thanks for your help with this project.

I'm really curious how this works out. I had the same idea.....getting black wall tires and adding the old style "Goodyear" logo on.

I agree. I am envisioning drag radials with the OEM Goodyear look. I have a close friend who is a Ford fan and an experienced graphic designer. As soon I get some quality photos he can create the vector file needed for the stickers . Of course I would share with all of you.

Ok.....just called them. They have the classic "Goodyear Polyglass" and "Firestone Wide Oval" designs for $30 per tire. They will consider a multi quantity discount for us on this site. Just need a show of hands on who might be interested.

Thanks Dave for the info.  Took a look at their web-site and did not find it very helpful.   Couldn't locate photos of the two examples you cited.  So I guess it will require a phone call to find out what they have and how much.  Brian

I called and got the pictures. They're not exactly what I was hoping for but I will upload them so we can take a look. I'll try to get to it after work or by this weekend at the latest.

Brian....I called them already and complained about that. They said to follow the link on their site to their instagram site. I told them they should have a direct link to those 2 sets as they are used on most muscle cars from the 60's.

Here are the pics they sent me with a side by side comparison to the OEM version. They did say they can do the wide oval symbol on the Firestone's.

Honestly it's close but I was looking for a look that was near identical to the OEM. Maybe they will work with us to refine the design. For starters, the letters are a bit too big.

Here's a random picture of a someones beautiful Mach1 with real F70's. Wow I bet those tires were easy to spin.

I'm not sure but I think the Boss 429 had F60's vs the F70's on the Mach1. For the above project I am focusing on F60's.
