Ash 145 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 The depth looks great! How many coats of colour and clear did you end you laying down?
MAC390 327 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 Three coats of colour with the last two coats have clear mixed in with the base and three coats of clear. You lose a layer when you rub and buff' Use 1500 then finish with 3000 then buff with a lambswool pad the the blue waffle pad to finish. That system works for us. Ash 145 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 I'm yet to do a start to finish by myself and always find it really interesting what peoples methods are. Especially old school guys who have been doing it for decades. Were you machine sanding or by hand? I can see the Festool still in position so am thinking maybe with it? 69Mustang16 92 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 Well we started rubbing down the car for final buffing but after two power blackouts and torrential rain we called it quits. Finished the trunk lid , came out great. Due to the crappy light it looks orange but it's candy apple red alright , looks fantastic. Get some better pics when we have power and good light. Awesome!!
