moose425 16 Report post Posted May 3, 2016 Does anyone have experience with the "max lube" type hydraulic lifters; they have a "flat" machined on the side to allow additional oil to run down to the interface between the cam lobe and the face of the lifter. I know Crower makes a variant of these. Thanks.
barnett468 418 Report post Posted May 4, 2016 Never heard of that name and therefore wouldn't use them . I would use the Crowers if you want oil all over the place. You could also just use regular lifters and cut a narrow groove in the side with a Dremel cut off wheel.
fordguy69 24 Report post Posted May 4, 2016 Most of the cam companies now offer hydro lifters with EDM face oiling instead of the loose tolerance bodies or grooves. Puts the oil directly between the lifter face and the cam lobe. And it more precisely meters the extra oil instead of just blowing past the lifter body.
