RPM 1,268 Report post Posted October 4, 2016 OUCH! Never heard of anyone having an ankle replaced. Nothing better than seeing a youngster working on an old car, love it! You gotta be proud of those boys of yours.

Ash 145 Report post Posted October 4, 2016 Looking like a pretty solid car too. Any surprises after some blasting? My Dad never went to this level with me as a kid but I'll never forget helping him sand panels or pass spanners.
RobotMan 265 Report post Posted October 5, 2016 As usual there are a few surprises. The rear of the car has been wrecked and the rear frame rails are not in the right place. Also some very poor repair work. So I am going to build a jig to put new frame rails in the correct locations using another car. That will take some extra time but will be worth it to get the rear part of the car started to a correct reference. 1 RPM reacted to this
RobotMan 265 Report post Posted June 21, 2017 Well, ankle replacement surgery and rehab are complete. Mike and I are back at it. Started fixing rust issues working from the front of the car backwards. Repaired a couple of spots on front frame rails.
RobotMan 265 Report post Posted June 21, 2017 We had some major damage at the driver side cowl area by the windshield. I think there was a bad leak for a long time. We repaired 3 layers deep. Think it turned out nice! 1 SWPruett reacted to this

Machspeed 219 Report post Posted June 26, 2017 If this turns out anything like the Candy Apple Red Mach, and I have no reason to doubt that, those will be two beauties sitting side by side. You pulled off an incredible restoration with that CA Mach. Looking forward to the transformation of this one.
RobotMan 265 Report post Posted June 29, 2017 Thanks for recognizing our hard work. Mike and his brother Alex have already talked about going out driving the blue and red Machs side by side. That will be quite a day! Wonder if they will ever test to see which is faster when dad is not around? 1 RPM reacted to this

Ash 145 Report post Posted July 30, 2017 Am about to do the same with my cowl. But you have way more holes than I do. Nice work!
RobotMan 265 Report post Posted July 30, 2017 I put the patch in halves so I would not lose the position of the heater duct. Worked out nice.
RobotMan 265 Report post Posted February 6, 2018 Mike and I just finished the torque boxes and repair of one of the side vent panels. We actually fabricated and welded in the raised drip edge on the panel. That was fun! 1 simplyj reacted to this
