1970 Sportsroof front wheel and tire size questions.

Recommended Posts

1970 Mustang Sportsroof with factory disc brakes.

Questions:

1. Will a 15x8 fit in front with a 245/60/15  B.F.Goodrich Radial T/A?

2.What should it have a 4.5 inch backspace or? to clear the inside suspension/ball joint and unrolled fender lip?

Thank you!

This site has known fitment for tire/wheel for your 70, just go to the 69-70 and download the pdf.http://www.dodgestang.com/cgi-bin/pro/emAlbum.cgi?c=show_thumbs;p=Tire%20and%20Wheel%20Charts%201965-1973/Tire%20and%20Wheel%20Chart looks like the largest front is 235 in a 15" wheel and stock suspension.

Edit stock Boss was a F60-15, 235/60/15 equivalent, and may require rolling of the fender lip. So 245 would be a no go.

Rsmach1, unfortunately there are some errors in tha chart and some people have damaged their cars using some of the combos . . also, very few if any of the combos have been properly tested to fit even when they claim the tires dont it.
