Timing Lights with MSD Ignition

Recommended Posts

I am in need of a new timing light and have recently noticed some say compatible with MSD and some don't.  Then I noticed MSD mentions that their CD ignitions with cause interference with some digital timing lights resulting in erratic timing flashes and tach readings.  My last digital timing light was a Ferret rebranded as Cornwell, it finally quit working after over 15 years but it had that eratic flash issue with my Mach 1 and MSD ignition.  I am thinking of going back to a timing light with just a dial on it for the advance.  My question is are any members here using a digital timing light with an MSD ignition?  If so, what brand is it?

Thanks,

Mike

So far I'm still thinking of going with a dial advance type.  There have been some fairly priced used Snap On dial advanced timing lights on EBay.  I know those were rock solid from when I worked as a Mechanic.  Why are dial advance type timing lights not supposed to be used?  I have noticed the two timing lights that MSD offers have no dial advance and are not digital.
