Valve Covers for Edelbrock Victor Jr Heads

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Nearing completion of my build and I'm reconsidering my choice in valve covers. I've a 351w with Edelbrock Victor Jr Heads, and I'm not

completely satisfied with the valve cover fit. I like the old school look, but the way these fit it does'nt seem the bolts line up right (note the long bolts on the back two positions) and have to be adjusted with additional washers, etc. I'm curious what others have done with a similar

setup- Ford Racing covers, etc?

Thanks for the feedback-

-Tony

I have never liked the Mickey Thompson or Edelbrock script valve covers. I do like the Ford Cobra finned ones, good basic chrome ones, especially factory, and I  love the Ford Motorsport Boss ones they have now. Makes a Windsor look like a Cleveland.

Both good looking engine bays.

Wish we had more options on the FE motors.  I don't like putting Cobra script on mine for some reason.  Just doesn't make sense.

I think the factory chrome FE VCs are some of the best looking ever.

Ansen has some basic old school valve covers.  Cast aluminum, finned with or without a black wrinkle powder coat finish.  Plus they're made in USA, Southern California, which is rare.  Most and maybe all of the Ford Racing stuff is now imported.  Here is a link to Ansen, http://www.ansenusa.com/ .  I bought mine direct from Ansen.  To me their quality is great.

Here are a couple of them.  I purchased the first one listed below.  I don't know why Ansen doesn't have a picture on their website.  The detailed descriptions also lists 351W.  I phoned them to order mine.  Shipping took a few days.  As with most aluminum valve covers its best to use a metal core gasket so it stays in place.  Ansen use to make most if not all of Ford Racing's valve covers including the Boss style Max Power has.  Now the Ford Racing stuff is imported.
