mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted March 12, 2017 Once the sail panels were installed we noticed they need a little more material at the bottom. I'm glad we caught this before the mold for them was made.

mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted March 12, 2017 Here's a picture of the lower bottom corner that needs to be fixed. (BTW- I don't know how these other three pics got on this post or where they came from. Editing won't let me take them off either)
Notams 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2017 Thanks for the update along with the pics. Looks great so far. My coupe just went into paint and body. Probably be another two months before I see it back. But I'm ready to purchase the headliner anytime it's put into production. Will the upper console be an option like on the fastback, or will it be part of the standard package? If an option, how much additional? I kind of like it.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted March 13, 2017 The overhead console an option on all the headliners we make.
zach69grande 25 Report post Posted March 17, 2017 That looks great! I can't wait to get one of those in my ride. So - would you recommend dynamat or some similar insulation between the headliner and the roof?
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted March 17, 2017 I like to install a layer of Hush Mat first, then pre-cut and glue 1/2 layer of good quality carpet padding to the Hush Mat. It's extremely quite then.
sixt9stang 36 Report post Posted March 18, 2017 That looks really nice. My headliner is in good shape but still might want one of these.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted March 18, 2017 That looks really nice. My headliner is in good shape but still might want one of these. They do improve the look, especially with the built in console. We also switched over to super bright LED lights.

MustangRanch 14 Report post Posted April 28, 2017 Been waiting to place my order for years.... how many piles of cash do you want and when?
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted April 28, 2017 Ok boys, here's where we are at. The headliner mold is done, but needs a little touch up. The sail panels and A- Pillars are just a pattern and now molds will be made for them. Next those 2 molds have to be attached to the headliner mold. I'm picking it all up to have another company do this work.

I think you missed the boat- all that for a couple of lights. I'm sure they give some functionality, but jeez. If you drive in the daytime you would probably be reaching up there for sunglasses... if it had it. So when is it used, when you need to read a map. That's a dying industry, now its on your smart phone. Just saying, but I guess that boat has sailed.

lalojamesliz 56 Report post Posted April 30, 2017 I need a new headliner for my 69 coupe. Any idea on a estimated price and when you'll have them ready?
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted April 30, 2017 I plan on picking the headliner mold and the patterns for the sail panels and A - Pillars Wednesday, then taking it to another guy to finish it. Pricing should be the same as the 65-68 coupe headliner, providing we get in all ran on the same box.

We did upgrade to LED for lights, which are used more for convenience get in and out of the car. We have them wired so when you open the doors they come on. The way the factory did it you had to use the switches.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted May 4, 2017 Dropped the headliner mold and the patterns off to a guy who has made interior parts for me before. He will be much faster and better quality.

Johns Summer of 69 14 Report post Posted June 8, 2017 So what's the latest with this project?
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted June 10, 2017 On 6/8/2017 at 11:28 AM, Johns Summer of 69 said: So what's the latest with this project? I just talked to them yesterday. They got the headliner mold all smooth out and made a new overhead console to fit the coupe better. We were hoping to run all the parts on one box, but it appears the 69-70 coupe is just a little larger than the 65-68 coupe. So that means they have to run the sailpanels and A-pillars on a separate box. So now it will cost us more since our manufacturer can't run the parts off one sheet of ABS :(
