Mustangs to fear 6 dial gauge inserts - recommendations?

Anyone have comments on them? Fit, finish, etc.

 

MTF have not answered my email so I'll have to call them.

 

Are there other alternatives, preferably in a plain black like original, not carbon or anything else. I like the 6 dial set out rather than the combined smaller gauges.

That's the only one I know of now, Year One had a black one for smaller gauges I believe but it was recently discontinued.

 

Edit, you might be able to order one from MTF in black...? Let us know.

I think they need some trimming around the column on the 70 model, fits the 69 as is.

MTF should be able to confirm that for you.

I priced out making a guage cluster as opposed to buying a prebuilt and the price was pretty damn close to each other.  There is another company that makes a cluster surround and its about 150.  Fit and finish looked ok from what I saw.

I found some vinyl adhesive wood grain that I used on my clock panel. It looks just like original.

$750 sounds a little high except maybe you're adding in your own labor.

 

I have about $60 in materials in mine. I didn't keep track of my labor, worked on it off and on over the course of about 5 years.

I bought theirs and the quality looks great, but I have not installed yet. I bought the one with the brushed aluminum look. They are very helpful over the phone but not over email, so if you have questions you should call.

Best picture I have of both the instrument cluster and clock panel together.  The instrument cluster is original, the clock panel had the woodgrain replaced with the same stuff as the ebay link above.
