Shep69 149 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 I'm running a edelbrock carb on a performer rpm manifold on my 351w and was wondering if anyone has managed to get the kick down lever on a FMX to work. I made up a bracket off the throttle linkage and attached it to the kick down rod but only had limited success. It works but only if I floor the accelerator pedal. I did adjust it to kick in on partial acceleration then I can't get WOT as the kick down lever bottoms out on the gearbox. I know I can manually shift the auto but it would be nice to get it working. dkm004 11 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 Hey. There maybe a linkage you can purchase from Edelbrock to integrate the kick down rod. I know this is a Holley but it may help give you a visual on what you need. Hope it helps! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zv5Pw8QMOfs
RPM 1,279 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 It works but only if I floor the accelerator pedal. Isn't that how they're supposed to work? Edelbrock should have specific hardware for the Ford kickdown.
