18" or 17" Wheels

Recommended Posts

How about 17" and 18" :)

These are 17X8 and 18X10 that fit the 94-04 stang. Running a 1" spacer up front. Rolled fender lip in front and rear, done at the body shop when in paint. No spacer out back. Running 245/45 and 285/35 out back

Several really cool cars posted here! Nice job guys. I like the 17/18 combo. If I had a fat wallet I'd go that route with custom backspace.

Sorry, just saw this. From memory, my wheels are 17x11 in rear and 17x8 in the front. Am running 315/35-17 in back and 245/40-17 in front. Front has Shelby drop and 1.5 coils cut from stock springs. Rear springs were dearched 2" and 2" drop block added. The car was dropped 4" but I raised it up 1" by adding rubber spacer up front and swapping 2" block for 1"block. There are other alternatives to get this drop and I plan to re-do it at some point. I would not recommend de-arching springs.

For those with stock size discs, the discs dont look dinky behind those big wheels? Ive got the ssbc comp r kit and worried a little about the looks....

I don't think it will look that bad. before my Cobra brake swap, I had the Granada Swap, I just repainted the calipers and got slotted rotors it looked good with my 17 TT's. IMO, as long as it performs great i don't think "looks" should matter.

I'm looking into these wheels and tires what are your thoughts?

I'm going for a staggered set up the Dyncorn are 17x7/17x8 but if I got circle racing 18x7/18x9.5 a little worried about BS with the 18's the 17 they say fit fine.

Rear 18x9.5's with 285/40R18

The rear does rub on good bumps. I have the rear quarters rolled. I think it could handle more back spacing.

Front 17's. No issues up front at all. I'd like to drop it another 1/2" to 3/4" with the Shelby drop.

Jwascarab what is your bs? And width?

285's on the rear and if I am measuring correct, I believe I have 6" back spacing on the rear. I think it could go another 1/2"

Yea they do, lol! Especially with your super low profile tires. .. :001_tongue:

Haha!! Talking of profiles, my wheels are 18x8 and I'm thinking 245's will be the right width but what will be the best profile, 40 or 45?

I have BFGoodrich Sport comp 2 tires and the profile are 40s, they fill in nicely.
