alex 18 Report post Posted July 6, 2014 Anyone have any experience with the exterior mirrors offered by CJ Pony Parts? Good quality? http://www.cjponyparts.com/mirror-racing-driver-side-after-2-25-1969-1970/p/ME4L/
bartzzimpson 18 Report post Posted July 6, 2014 I bought the driver's side unit from CJs. All good. They also sell stainless steel mounting screws separately. The stock screws tend to rust quickly because the mounting hole in the mirror traps water easily.
alex 18 Report post Posted July 6, 2014 Good advise. I noticed that there are mirrors for pre-2/24/1969 and ones for after. Is it as simple as matching that to the build date of your car or is there something specific to look for to ensure proper fit?
blueblood 26 Report post Posted July 6, 2014 The difference is in the stalk for the mirror adjustment inside the car. Early version had a right angled stalk, later version is straight. They locate in the door panel on cars with deluxe trim, but you can make them fit standard trim by putting a hole through the panel

STL. Mark 11 Report post Posted July 7, 2014 I also bought two from them and they appear to be fine. I have not tried to install them as of yet.
maxum96 32 Report post Posted July 7, 2014 I believe there is only one aftermarket manufacturer of the sport mirrors. I bought a driver's side one and it looks fine.
THE EVIL TW1N 12 Report post Posted July 8, 2014 I had to buy a repro passenger side mirror (bought an original driver side on ebay). If I had to do it again, I would have also bought the repro driver side one too. They aren't 100% EXACTLY the same, but the difference is so minimal that you can't even tell the difference even when they are right next to each other. They are 98% the same. alex 18 Report post Posted July 8, 2014 Did everyone buy the straight cable to the remote knob or the 90 degree?
