MikeStang 247 Report post Posted May 29, 2014 Okay So who is going to try to make it to Cruising the Coast this year? I will assume most of you know what this is but if not check it out on line. If I understand correctly it is the largest car show / Cruise week in the US. Luckily I live about an hour away and I will be in attendance this year even if its not in my car "Trying to make the Deadline" I'm planning to go out on October 3rd, 4th & 5th. So who is gonna meet up here in Louisiana with me and a few others and make a 69 Stang Showing. My Good friend who has been the past few years and is also a 69 stang owner says every year that the 69 / 70 cars are few and far between every year. So we need to Rally up guys

MikeStang 247 Report post Posted July 16, 2014 Got anyone else coming .... We have about 5-6 cars coming all meeting in Louisiana to make the last leg of the journey to CTC...
69volunteer 84 Report post Posted July 16, 2014 Where in LA are you meeting and who all is going? There is another group (non-mustang) that goes every year from Dallas. I would probably trailer my car nearby and then cruise down with you guys. I just got mine on the road and not sure I would trust it to get me there and back. MikeStang 247 Report post Posted July 17, 2014 Volunteer I live on I-12 at the Walker exit. Everyone will likely meet at my place and you could ground your trailer and rig here if you like. I live in a very nice country subdivision and my neighbors keep an eye out for my stuff and I have plenty of parking and a shop if u need last minute repairs. RCE1313 23 Report post Posted August 22, 2014 MikeStang - I live in Prairieville but my 69 won't be ready in time for CTC. With me working out of town the progress is really slow on my car but I'll be down there at CTC. Let me know where all y'all plan to park y'alls mustangs so I can come by and check them out. I might need advice on my rebuild.

MikeStang 247 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 Well Boys and Girls 2 days till we make the trip. Took her out last night on the road for a short Run. Having some transmission computer problems with my 4R70 and Baumans. Waiting on them to open so I can call and see whats going on. used the diagnostic mode in their controller to manually go through the gears and lock up converter and the transmission works perfectly fine...Talk about smooth and quiet when you slip it into Overdrive and the converter locks up Wooooo...motor drops down to about 1400 rpm's and I have no idea how fast I was going LOL. Gonna be a BLAST. We have rented a House located at 3622 9th Street Gulf Port MS So if anyone is in the area Stop by and see Us...will likley be 4-6 old cars there and im sure we will be under the hood wrenching on one eventually haha...other than that its BBQ and beer and looking at cars

69 red fastback 20 Report post Posted October 8, 2014 Lots of nice cars and trucks, but where the heck are all of the mustangs!!!!
MikeStang 247 Report post Posted October 13, 2014 Well we made the trip there and back. I resolved my transmission problems and my people showed up Thursday around 2 Pm and I worked on their cars till around 5pm and we took off. I got about 10 miles from home and my brand new Edelbrock Quiet flow pump started cutting out on me to the point that i couldn't go over 40mph. We stopped a few times and then loaded her on the trailer and took it to Hammond and I bought a Mr. Gasket pump and dropped it in and away we went..made it there around 9pm with no other problems. Registered Friday and I think my number was #7243 And more were coming in as I was signing up.. we hit the swap meet and a few other venues then Sat we went to Ocean Springs and got on the main strip across from the candy shop. we cruised Sat evening and did a few burn outs and had much fun. I learned that with a 4R70 and 3.25 gears coupled with 550hp will put you sideways at 55 mph when it down shifts...that was a bit un-nerving. I my power steering is so damn sensitive its sick, and it will flat out destroy my Nitto 555's with ease... I ended up adjusting my Trans controller so the converter wouldnt lock up in 4th because it pulled the motor down to about 1500 rpms and its not set up to operate in that power range LOL... but wow talk about GREAT gas mileage ....Its AWESOME Love my 4R70 Conversion

I have no AC in my garage and the summer heat killed my progress.
