Removing hard water spots on glass....

Recommended Posts

It's most likely acid (rain) damage and it might need to be polished. Your glass installer can do it for you, or you could try for yourself with a polisher and toothpaste, which is a very mild polishing product.

0000 Steel wool, and Mothers Aluminum Polish. Works amazingly.

I was timid at first, but you can put down some pretty good elbow grease and not scratch the glass.

Just make sure it is 0000 grade and actually made out of Steel. There are other materials for "steel" wool that will scratch it.

I have not tried it on my car, but CLR works extremely well for hard water spots on mirrors, shower doors, etc. I would be very careful not to get any on the paint.
