What is this part?

Does anyone recognize this part? Someone I know restoring a 69 convertible found it in his car.

I don't think that is from a '69 or 70.

 

Looks like it could be a horizontal bracket that surrounds a hood latch, but usually a part like this would be symetrical as it would typically be centered at the front of a vehicle.

 

Hopefully someone else will recognize it !!

unless its a specific part related to a convertible because i have never owned one........its not from a '69.

I see something that looks like a Part #. Plug that into your computer doing a Google Search. You'd be surprised what I've found doing that.

I'm with you here, as I haven't got anything like this on my Sportsroof. Either a convertible specific part or something belonging to another model year car, that was dumped in there accidently.

 

Still hoping to get some kind of feed back from convertible owners!

If we are guessing, I say it looks like a battery tray support.

Goes from frame rail to battery tray.

That was my guess was battery tray support but I looked at mine and it doesnt look the same as that one.
