Yep, be careful. I just did this last weekend and cracked my windshield:hammer:. I couldn't believe how easy it cracked.

Happened to me as well. Cracked windshield. God those moldings are an absolute PITA to remove/put back on...

I am not going to worry to much if I do crack it. I have owned the car for 41 years, and never had it replaced, so I think it is inevitable that it will crack.:thumbup1:

Has anyone had any luck finding those clips? I will be needing a few new ones, to replace some.

Anyone looking to take the chrome off of the windshield, there are 7 clips across the top, and 3 down each of the sides for a total of 13, I found that using small picks works better than the tool I bought to use. I also recommend eyeglass wear, preferably goggles for this as the windshield likes to explode in layers.:redface: I will see if it can be repaired since it was at the very top of it

Is the chrome around the back window, fastback, just the same as the windshield? It is really tight against that rubber gasket that goes around the window. Now I know why a company I called to get it off, has put me off 3 times. I guess I will do 1 of 3 things.

 

1. Call a new company

 

2. Try my best to get under that gasket

 

3. take a small ball peen hammer to it in the corner and let it fall into the car,

then vacuum it all up, and start from there.
